Herndons on the Highway
Our Aegean Adventure
Although we live thousands of miles from our families, many of our friends and our homeland, we never feel alone doing the work that God has called us to do here in Europe. From sports camps to English classes, all of the ministries we do are possible because of those supporting us from around the globe. We go because we are sent; we share what others have freely given to us; we love because we are loved. These stories are not our stories...they are yours. This Aegean adventure is one we share, because we are traveling together.
Missions is something we don't do alone...
When we first moved to Spain, the majority of our ministries were inside the established church. However, over the last few years, we have found ourselves working more in the community where we live. These ministries include discipleship groups in our home, English classes in public and personal settings, and sports outreach ministries in our home community and other towns where we are invited. Involvement in ministry in Europe takes many different forms. There are opportunities to teach in our theological education program. For those desiring to get involved in
Many Mediterranean Ministries
short-term mission projects, we continue to plan sports and English-based programs. Finding creative curriculum to use to share the Gospel in discipleship groups is a need we constantly have. Gathering school supplies for our Friday night kids' club and summer VBS programs is an ongoing chore. Keeping these ministries going requires a special commitment by those who feel called to be a part of these specific ministries. That is why we are eternally grateful for those who have chosen to partner with us, and who continue to be the reason these ministries exist in the first place.
The ministries we are involved in are as varied as the country itself. Finding one that matches your personal passions, spiritual gifts, or individual interests is only a matter of time.

By playing American sports with Spanish kids and teens, we are building meaningful relationships while teaching important character qualities and life principles. We are in the process of creating a community exchange program: swapping languages and sports between countries separated by thousands of miles. Click to find out more!

Support
For those who hate to travel, or have absolutely no desire to watch, play or even talk about sports; there are other ways to become involved in Great Commission work. We need help in various ways. Many of the ministries we are involved in require financial help or tangible supplies. If you feel you can help in this way, we can show you how.
Short-term mission projects are a great way to get involved in local ministry, while also learning a lot about another culture. Our one to two week opportunities allow you to participate in projects we are doing on the ground, explore various sites in the country where we live, converse with our friends and foreign family, and fall in love with the place we now call home.
